Carefully cut an X in each chestnut with a knife. Microwave all 6 chestnuts for about 35 seconds. Let cool for at least 5 minutes and peel off the shells. Bring 1 1/2 cup of water to a boil. Add the rice, chestnuts, butter and salt. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer on the lowest heat for 25 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit covered for another 5 minutes. Gently fluff before serving which will break up chestnuts a little. Serves 2.
