Benjamin first began publishing recipes in 1995, initiating what became a global trend: bad-boy chefs. He likes to think he was an inspiration for Anthony Bourdain and others who followed. His website has attracted millions of unique visitors from around the world.

His passion is eating dangerously, which he defines as focusing on flavor while ignoring health fads, time constraints, gimmicks and budgets.

His hobbies include other dangerous activities such as backcountry ski mountaineering on volcanoes and urban bicycling…at night…after an impeccably tailored bespoke suit.

He lives with his family in New York City.

As the son of a diplomat, Rodrigo has had the opportunity to live in several countries including Brazil, Italy and Chile. He has eaten at some of the finest restaurants in the world and has cooked with the head chefs of Brazilian embassies in three countries. Rodrigo has also worked for British American Tobacco in Brazil, the Mccann-Erickson advertising agency and a major communications group in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Currently, he is working as at a major global media company.
